About Us
Southworks Construction LLC is a family-owned business built on a foundation of character, integrity, and a lifelong commitment to hard work. Serving the Southeastern Region, we specialize in comprehensive railroad construction and maintenance, offering turnkey services that span from civil site work to final track completion. Whether we are installing two cross ties to get a track back in service or constructing a two-mile rail siding, we treat every project with the utmost importance. Our story began with founder Justin Roberts, who learned the value of labor on his grandfather’s farm and his father’s construction sites. His path was forever changed at age 15 when he met Wayne Alexander, President of R.W. Alexander Contracting. After years of mastering the trade—from swinging a hammer on track gangs to learning complex plan reading—Justin founded Southworks Construction in 2006. Starting with a single auction-bought trailer and a used dump truck, the company was forged through determination and grit. In 2013, upon Mr. Alexander’s retirement, Southworks acquired his legacy company, integrating decades of expertise to become the premier industry leader we are today.
